Initial PGF Award: Undergraduate Film Scholarship, Narrative Film, 2006

Rachel Israel was homeschooled until she enrolled at RISD at the age of twenty-three. She entered college as a painting student but soon discovered interests in a variety of media. Now majoring in film, Rachel continues to work across genres. In 2005 she was awarded the Kira M. Fischer Memorial Scholarship, presented biennially to one sophomore student in recognition of creative excitement, generosity of knowledge, and academic excellence. Her most recent film and video projects have explored how exposure to narrative film can influence individuals’ perceptions of reality.
