Lily Whitsitt is a theater director, interdisciplinary artist, and co-founder of Door 10, a time-based art group in New York that creates live original works for performance.  She has developed and directed work at the Orchard Project, NYU/ Stella Adler, CalArts, Here (Drama League DirectorFest), the MIT Media Lab, a warehouse rooftop, a medium security prison, and internationally through the Feldstärke initiative at Centquatre (Paris) and PACT Zollverein (Essen). For the past year, in association with Rehabilitation Through the Arts, Lily led a theatre company of incarcerated men at a medium security prison in Beacon, New York, where she co-directed “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.” She is a Time Warner Fellow at the Women’s Project Lab 2012-2014, a Drama League Fellow, and recipient of the Princess Grace Award.
