Leonides D. Arpon

Leonides D. Arpon, born in Israel of Filipino descent, started his dance training at the Bat-Dor Dance School in Israel under the direction of Rosaline Subel Kassel. He was the recipient of an American-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship from 1995 until 1998, when he joined the Bat-Dor Dance Company and worked with Randy Duncan, Luciano Cannito, and Igal Perry. Upon moving to New York in 1999 under the mentorship of Fredrick Earl Mosley, he worked with Arthur Aviles, Johannes Wieland, Homer Avila, Matthew Rushing, Nathan Trice, Kevin Wynn, and Edisa Weeks. Since 2004 he has been a member of Armitage Gone! Dance under the direction of Karole Armitage. Leonides’s work has been presented in various venues in New York, and he has taught workshops throughout Israel, Japan, and the U.S.
