Andrew Wojtal

Initial PGF Award: Dance Scholarship, 2010

Andrew Wojtal began dancing at the Dance Studio of Maine under the artistic direction of Trish Moulton. Upon graduating he decided to further his artistic goals as both a performer and choreographer at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA. There he has been a part of creating new works for American choreographers Colin Connor and Rosanna Gamson which premiered at the Institute with other performances held at REDCAT theatre in the Walt Disney Music Hall. At Calarts he has also set 3 works of his own on students and premiered a fourth work at Bates Dance Festival in Lewiston ME in summer 2009. This recent summer he was invited by the Island Moving Company under the artistic direction of Miki Ohlsen in Newport Rhode Island to perform with the company at the Great Friends Dance Festival dancing in 2 new works created by choreographer Scott Putman.
